A Twitter screwup got some very, very valuable free advertising for Nike on Sunday.

A manager who handles social media for superstar golfer Dustin Johnson and up-and-comer Brooks Koepka mixed up their accounts, sending out an endorsement for the athletics company — which actually sponsors Koepka — from Johnson’s account.

Making matters worse, Johnson — who came within a putt of winning the last U.S. Open — has multimillion-dollar deals with two Nike arch rivals, Adidas and TaylorMade golf equipment.

“It was live for less than a minute, and I caught it pretty quickly and had it removed,” the red-faced social media manager, Joey Thomas of Thomasonian Media, told Confidenti@l. “I feel terrible about the mixup; it’s something that’s never happened before, I’ve never encountered a technical glitch like this or an error on my part like this.”

He was eager to point out that both golfers “do the vast majority of their own posts.”

The mistake — first noticed by enigmatic golf insider @secrettourpro — happened after another Nike-sponsored star, Charl Schwartzel, won the Valspar Championship PGA Tour event on Sunday.

Johnson’s account tweeted, “Congrats @CA_Schwartzel on a very big Sunday @ValsparChamp! #TeamNike.”

It was quickly deleted and switched to Koepka’s account.

“It was totally in error and Dustin is 100% a TaylorMade Adidas athlete,” Johnson’s agent, David Winkle told us.
