Emma Roberts has undergone a hair transformation with a specific purpose in mind.
The Scream Queens actress debuted her new “Desert Rose” hair color on Instagram Wednesday. The warm brown-blonde hue was created by celebrity hairstylist Nikki Lee at Los Angeles salon Nine Zero One Salon, and according to Lee the new ‘do was created “just in time for #Coachella.”
Roberts, who has been attending the Indio music fest as early as 2010, also lengthened her tresses with the help of extensions guru Riawna Capri. “Change is always a good idea #DesertRose thanks to @nikkilee901 & @riawnacapri,” the actress captioned her latest hair selfie.
In November, Roberts ditched her super-long Chanel Oberlin-inspired extensions for a short, shoulder-grazing lob after wrapping production on her hit Fox show. “I love having it [blonde] and short because I can just roll out of bed and put some sea salt spray in it and be out the door,” she told the New York Times at the time.
Scream Queens will begin production on season 2 in July. The Ryan Murphy-created series will relocate to California following the successful first season which shot in New Orleans. Wonder if the west coast scenery could impact Emma’s on-screen character’s hair? Stay tuned!
