The Weeknd backs out of performing at Rihanna’s ANTI tour
He earned a spot on RiRi’s tour but not The Weeknd is backing out.
He won’t be there for Rihanna this weekend or any other weekend during her tour.
The Weeknd has bowed out of Rihanna’s ANTI tour citing a vague need for time with future projects, Billboard magazine reported Wednesday.

“Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour,” a rep for Live Nation told the site.
It’s unclear what those projects are but an insider dished that the hit-maker “has hit a stride on his new album and decided not to interrupt the process.”
Rihanna is currently on her ANTI tour.
The 26-year-old, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, was slated to hit the stage with the pop princess on June 11 in Amsterdam and stay on for two months during the European leg of the musical trek.
The “Earned It” singer hasn’t addressed the abrupt departure but did offer loyal followers a cryptic tweet early Wednesday morning.
“It’s my job to make music … not to convince you,” his latest tweet said.
RiRi also has yet to speak out on the exit or announce if a replacement will be made.
Big Sean, who was announced as part of the tour in November, is still set to join the “Umbrella” singer on stage.
The Barbadian beauty is currently busy with the U.S. dates of the tour, with rapper Travis Scott joining her as the opening act.
Her highly anticipated tour was plagued last month by a two week delay.
